John Stone

John Stone has over 30 years of information technology experience in the strategy, development, and management of software platforms, products, and applications. A former CTO, and Andersen Partner, John has advised organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies on AI strategy, digital transformation, digital twins, software development, and project rescue.

John is the author of the forthcoming book The AI-Mediated Enterprise: Alignment, Governance, and Execution in the Age of AI, and McGraw-Hill books on application development and managing technology change. His current work focuses on enterprise AI strategy, AI governance, AI-enabled application development, and Cognitive Application Simulation; an AI-driven approach for aligning stakeholders on application behavior, governance implications, operating model impact, and execution readiness before development begins.

Some of John’s accomplishments include:

  • Leading development of the Unified Operations Center for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, enabling real-time event management across all eight stadiums and earning a Johnson Controls Chairman’s Award.
  • Leading the scaled Agile transformation efforts at Hewlett Packard Enterprise to support globally distributed product management and engineering teams.
  • Leading product and engineering efforts at Cisco for application-centric infrastructure solutions that optimized networks and enabled automated corrective actions.

John holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from NYU and is a Certified SAFe Practitioner. His patents and patent-pending work include AI-Enabled Pre-Acceptance and Foundational-Model-Driven Methods and Systems for Accelerated Product and Application Development; AI-Enabled Cognitive Application Simulation; Collaborative AI Recovery Ecosystem for Post-Operative Patients; and an issued patent on AI and digital twin-based incident response.
